Photo guide

Consistency improves the trend.

A repeatable setup matters more than a dramatic photo. Use this checklist before every FormCheck analysis.

The eight-point checklist

  1. 01Use one recent, front-facing full-body photo.
  2. 02Keep your head through ankles visible with space around the body.
  3. 03Stand naturally with feet comfortable and arms relaxed at your sides.
  4. 04Use soft, even light from the front; avoid hard side light and shadows.
  5. 05Wear fitted athletic clothing that does not hide your waist or hips.
  6. 06Keep the camera level at about waist height and avoid a wide-angle lens.
  7. 07Do not flex, pose, use filters, or take the photo immediately after training.
  8. 08Repeat the same room, distance, clothing, and time of day at each check-in.

Common reasons a photo is rejected

The body is cropped, the image is blurred, lighting hides the outline, clothing obscures body shape, the pose is not front-facing and relaxed, or more than one person appears.

Why monthly beats daily

Short-term changes in hydration, digestion, and muscle fullness add noise. FormCheck recommends a four-week interval and identical conditions so comparisons are more meaningful.
